The Templates app is an application to create many similar elements, based on a template, comfortably within short time.
A typical use case is to create a temperature alarm for each room in a hotel which can be done in two steps:
create one parameterized template for an alarm
apply this template automatically to each room
The room number will be used as a parameter within the template.
Click the Templates icon on the dashboard of the Web Manager to open the Template app.
The Templates app consists of two pages which can be accessed on the left sidebar:
Independently of the template type the steps to create and apply the template are always the same.
There are two ways to create a template:
Create template from scratch in the Templates app.
Create template from an existing object - e.g. an alarm in the Alarms app.
Create a template of the desired type by clicking the Add button from the toolbar on the Templates Configuration page.
Configure the template and use variables in names and server items, written in curly brackets - e.g. {RoomNr}.
Open the Alarms app and switch to the Alarms Configuration page.
Select an alarm and click the Create template button from the toolbar to create the template.
Open the Templates app.
Select the alarms template which was created before.
Customize the template and use variables in names and server items, written in curly brackets - e.g. {RoomNr}.
To apply e.g. an alarm template, open the Alarms app or the Explorer app and click the Apply template button from the toolbar.
