Fonts look different on different devices (PC devices, web browsers, Android, iOS, ...)

Although dedicated fonts can be chosen for the controls within the visualization editor, fonts may look different on dedicated devices. The reason is that it depends on fonts that are available and supported on the different end devices:

  • PC visualization: here all installed fonts that are available on the Windows system can be used.
  • Web browser: each web browser provides and supports different fonts. It depends on the used web browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Opera, ...)
  • Android and iOS: smart phone and tablets that are based on Android and iOS only provide a very small set of available fonts. Only these fonts can be used on devices.

If you select a font within the visualization editor that is not able at the end device, the system at the end device will chose a fallback automatically.

In order to test, which fonts are available on your end device, open the following URL within your web browser:

http://<IP of BMS Platform>/fonts.html

It will show a list of all fonts that are supported by your web browser. If you choose one of these fonts within your visualization project, it will correctly be shown on your end device.
