System log file | Opens the current system log file. Here, the user is able to view all events and check the health of the server more detailed than in the "System Messages". Columns of the log file can be dragged onto the top of the table. This will group events by the content of this column. |

On selecting a parameter its description is shown in the box below the parameter list. Also, all the parameters are listed and editable in the server configuration file. |
System configuration… | Special system parameters can be changed. You can select each option and change its value. For any further information about each parameter and its values please refer to System Configuration. All these parameters are also listed and editable in the System Configuration. |
Start server | Starts the Core Server. This menu item is inactive while the server is running and will be activated, if the server is stopped or the Core Studio has not connected to the server, yet. |
Start simulation | Starts the Core Server in simulation mode, i.e. no communication with the field level takes place. This menu item is inactive while the server is running and will be activated, if the server is stopped or the Core Studio has not connected to the server, yet. |
Stop server | Stops the Core Server. If one or more OPC Clients are still connected to the server, a confirmation dialog is shown to the user. Although the system has an OPC shutdown interface and the information regarding the shutdown is sent to all the clients by the help of the server, some clients do not consider this information and report a connection error! |
Restart server | Stops and starts the Core Server in the recent run mode (online or simulation). In case one or more OPC Clients are still connected to the server a confirmation dialog gets shown to the user. |
Advanced / Extended logging | Turns the extended logging on or off. If turned on, detailed information on OPC communication is written to the server log file. The log file will also grow a lot faster. Therefore this feature should be turned on in special circumstances only (e.g. in a support case). In daily work it is recommended to stay turned off. When the Extended Logging is activated or deactivated, an entry is made in the system messages. |
Advanced / XLogic logging | Turns the debugging logging for the execution of XLogic commands on or off. If activated, a detailed stack trace of the executed XLogic commands is shown within the server logs. |
Advanced / Set log level… | Sets the log level. This will produce significantly larger log files and should only be changed upon request of the NETxAutomation support staff. In daily work, this value should be "0", which is also the default. |
Advanced / {Enable,Disable} OPC Server autostart | If enabled, foreign OPC DA clients are able to start the Core Server if it is not running. If disabled, OPC DA clients are not allowed to start the Core Server. |
Advanced / System configuration | Edit the system configuration file in here. The use of this feature is recommended to advanced users only. |
Advanced / Router configuration | Edit the router configuration file in here. The use of this feature is recommended to advanced users only. |
Advanced / Open workspace path… | Opens the Windows Explorer with the location of the current workspace. |
