Filtering TP main line

Here are two different ways how you can forward local group addresses to the main line:

1. Using a dummy device: A dummy device is not a real device. It is a device that is only existing within the ETS. The idea is that you place the dummy device on the main line and link all group addresses to this dummy device that you need in the main line i.e. all group addresses that shall be forwarded by the KNXnet/IP Router to the main line. There are many different dummy device applications from different vendors. Within the enclosed screenshot "Dummy.png" you will find an example project where a Schneider Dummy Device is used - of course you can also use other dummy devices. You see that the group addresses 0/0/1 and 0/0/2 are linked to the dummy device. This means even when these group addresses are only used within the line 1.1 locally, they will be forwarded to the main line due to the dummy device. Please keep in mind that you have to reprogram the line coupler after you have inserted the dummy device.

2. Manually changing the filter table: the second opportunity is to manually change the filter table of the line couplers. To achieve this, you have to select the group addresses that you need at the main line (you can also select the main or middle group in order to select all groups of a main or middle group) and make a drag & drop to the Area. In the screenshot "Filtering.png" you will find again an example. Here, I made a drag & drop of the group addresses 0/0/1 and 0/0/2 to the Area "1". When you click on the area, you will find in the right tab the new entries in the manual filtering table. Using this approach, the ETS knows that you want to forward these group addresses to the main line - even when they are used locally only. Again you have to reprogram the line couplers in order to activate the new filtering table.
