The following apps provide a create and apply template function:

  • Alarms app
  • Scheduler app
  • Trending app
  • Explorer app

Within the app click the Create template button from the toolbar to create a template from an existing object.

Within the app click the Apply template button from the toolbar to apply a template.

Create a template from an existing object

To create a template from an existing object - e.g. an Alarm, follow these steps:

  • Open the Alarms app and switch to the Alarms Configuration page.
  • Select an alarm and click the Create template button from the toolbar to create the template.
  • Open the Templates app. 
  • Select the alarm template which was created before.
  • Customize the template and use variables in names and server items, written in curly brackets - e.g. {RoomNr}.

Apply a template

To apply a template - e.g. an alarm template, follow these steps:

  • Open the Alarms app and switch to the Alarms Configuration page.
  • Click the Apply template button from the toolbar to open the templates dialog.

The templates dialog shows the available templates on the left hand side.

On the right hand side the following objects appear:

Export Excel Template button: click this button to generate a .xlsx file. The file contains a column for each variable which was used in the template. 

Select File button: click this button to select the .xlsx file.

Update existing elements switch: On (default), existing elements will be updated. Off, existing elements remain unchanged. 


  • Click the Export Excel Template button to create a .xlsx file. Open this file and fill in the values. The variables in the template will be substituted by the values from the .xlsx file.

  • Click the Select file button to select the .xlsx file or drag the .xlsx file here.
  • The templates dialog shows a preview with the content of the .xlsx file
  • Click the Import button to apply the selected template with the values from the .xlsx file.
  • The summary appears:
