Tutorial: Visualization user permissions
This tutorial shows how to configure visualization access permissions and how to restrict access to a specific part of visualization. In order to assign permissions to users you should at least have one user in the user management other than the "Super Admin" user.
Let's assume we want to create a visualization. Let the user "Viewer" be allowed accessing only some pages and see some visualization content.
Visualization Editor
- Start the Visualization Editor and create the visualization.
- In the Layers Window, create a new Layer and name it OnlyAdmin.
- Assign controls and objects with Viewer's no permissions to the OnlyAdmin layer.
- Save and transfer the visualization project to the server.
In this example the user Viewer won't be able to see Rooms (4,5,6) buttons and the LiveView internet control.
Visualization Management App
Now you need to create the user permissions for the visualization. In the Web Manager's Visualization Management app open the Users page.
- Grant the user Viewer access to the visualization device:
On the Configurations page:
- Add a new configuration and provide a name.
- Select the visualization device related to the visualization project.
- Select the user Viewer.
- Select the visualization project and save the changes.
After saving the configuration, new buttons will appears in the toolbar. Click on LAYERS. Select the OnlyAdmin layer and change the permission to invisible.
Save the changes, start the Visualization and login as Viewer:
