When the Visualization Editor opens a visualization project, first the connection to the Core Server is established: Tutorial: Set up the connection from the Visualization Editor to the Core Server

Then you need to login to the workspace using your credentials is set up in Web Manager's app permissions:

Default username / password is admin / changeme.
