Integration with SIM-ON digital twin platform

SIM-ON is a Digital Twin platform which provides integration to IoT control, maintenance scheduling, asset tracking, and advanced 3D visualization. TreeApi module allows NETx to integrate its datapoints with SIM-ON for their 3D visualization.

Configure the TreeApi module to enable the NETx datapoints over API

Install the TreeApi module from Extension Manager.

Install plugins and modules using Extension Manager

Configure the TreeApi as below.

Interface Configuration

Select the Authentication type JWT, save the changes by clicking OK and restart the server.

User Configuration

Provide the appropriate credentials.

Permission Configuration

Allow permission to the created user. * in path allows access to full item tree.

Configure Virtual Item structure to comply with SIM-ON data requirements

SIM-ON requires two level folder structure with virtual points from NETx. To configure and use virtual datapoints, create a two-level structure with Virtual Item Definitions and link XIO points to them in linked items.

If the datapoint of the XIO tree is linked to virtual item, then it is readable and writable (depends on XIO datapoint characteristic) from virtual item itself.

The item Structure will be created within virtual items.

Setup the NETx cloud to provide access to SIM-ON

Register your local BMS platform to the NETx Cloud.

https://netxautomation.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CLOUD/pages/818086122

After registering the platform, create a new cloud project in cloud portal.

List remote access to cloud project with Cloud Api as type.

Make sure cloud remote access is created and copy the access path.

Note: Only one part of the URL is being used in SIMON. For example, remote access URL is https://abf8db15d-6378-4fa4-96e3-1b85d3d0b18e.netxautomation.cloud, but only abf8db15d-6378-4fa4-96e3-1b85d3d0b18e gets used for remote access.

Using TreeApi information in SIMON

Log into SIM-ON portal and create a new space or use an existing space.

Select the NETx as provider.

The page redirects and will then ask for the connection details.

Provide username and password as configured in TreeApi user configuration. Provide remote access credentials as listed in NETx Cloud Remote access portal.

Select the incoming connection.

After clicking Accept selected the device connects and the status Connected gets shown for the created connection.

Go to Import device and select the devices which need to be imported.

After the import, devices will be available in the SIM-ON dashboard and can be used to link within space.
