Create trending

The following image shows the default form to edit a trending.

Following configuration items dealing with the recording of the data:

Enabled

Enable (default) or disable the trending. 

When a trending is disabled:

  • It does not log any values.

  • Its name is displayed in italic font.

  • In the Trending app / plot view, the trending name is extended by " - disabled"

  • In the Metering app / calculation chart, the trending name is extended by " - disabled"

Name

Name of the trending.

Description

Trending description.

Item

Select an item from the item tree. The trending logs the values of this item.

Type

Type of the trending:

  • All: All value changes of the item are logged. 

  • Average: The average value of the item over a given period of time is recorded.

  • COV: The value of the item is logged when it exceeds a given absolute or relative threshold.

  • Delta: The difference of the current value to the previous value is recorded in intervals of the given time period. 

  • Max: The maximum value of the item over a given period of time is recorded.

  • Min: The minimum value of the item over a given period of time is recorded.

  • Pulse: The number of received item values.

  • Sampling: For each interval of the given time period the current value of the item is logged.

Notes:

  • For items of data type String, only the trending types All and Sampling are available. (since 4.2.2010)

  • Depending on the selected trending type, additional form fields may be shown.

Schedule at full hour

Enabled: The recording schedule starts at the full hour and repeats at the given interval.

Disabled: The recording schedule starts when the trending is saved or the server has been restarted and repeats at the given interval. 

Max age [days]

Trending data older than the given age in days will be deleted.

0 (default): Ignore age of data.

Interval [s]

Interval [min]

Time interval in seconds.

Time interval in minutes.

COV type

In a COV trending,

Absolute (default): Specifies the threshold as absolute value.

Percentage: Specifies the threshold as relative value.

Threshold

In a COV trending, when the threshold is exceeded then the current item value is logged.

Scaling

Disabled (default): No scaling of the item value.

Enabled: The item value is linearly scaled according to the given coefficients before being logged. Additional form fields appear.

Min-Max Validation

Disabled (default): No validation.

Enabled: Values outside the given min-max range are ignored and not logged. Additional form fields appear.

Min allowed value

Minimum value.

Max allowed value

Maximum value.

Time program

Disabled (default): Time program is disabled.

Enabled: Data is only logged during the specified period of time.

Start date/time

Start of time program.

End date/time

End of time program.

These fields control how the data gets displayed. The configuration of these fields are the default ones when the data gets shown as plot or table. In the plot or table you can change these settings, but each time you open it again, the default values will be taken as preconfiguration of the plot or table.

Chart

Graphical presentation type of the trending data.

Range

Default time range in plot view: Day, Week, Month, Year, Custom.

Color

Color of the graph.

Decimals

Specifies the precision of values (trending and trendline) shown in table view or plot view.

Select the number of decimals to show:
0, 1 (default) to 6, All

Y axis scaling

Dynamic (default): Based on the displayed values, the range of the Y axis is dynamically adjusted.

0-based: The X axis intersects the Y axis at 0.

Y axis label

Label of the Y axis.

Aggregation

Enabled (default): Values are average-aggregated in order to display a well-readable number of values, e.g. 1 value per hour in a day period.

Disabled: The recorded raw values are shown in the plot.
